She's coming!

Well, not yet atleast. I had my routine visit yesterday and the doctor said I'm 1 cm dilated and about %40 effaced. Pretty cool, huh? Babybaby is on her way. When I was pregnant with Mckenzie, I was on bedrest so I didn't go out much. With this one I do go places and boy oh boy do I hear comments. Comments like "you look like your going to have a baby any day now" or "boy you sure look bigger than the last time I saw you". I totally understand that they don't mean anything by what they say, I just wish they didn't have to bring so much attention to it. As if I didn't recognize that I'm huge and about to pop. Trust me, I have a mental calender that I review each day. Maybe people are just running out of things to make conversation with. Who knows.
I've been really intrigued by politics for the past five + months. I can't get enough of it. Thankfully, I have a husband who is interested in it (he might just be being nice) and watches and reads everything with me. Being down in Arizona, I've really developed some strong opinions about local, national and world issues. Don't worry, I'm not going to go into them. I've realized the importance of making sure I'm informed on everything. I've been naive in the past. A;ways had a few things that I believed, but haven't really cared too much about the majority of what's going on in the world. Now, I'm ready to put forth an effort. Don't worry, I'm not thinking of getting a career in politics. Though President Jessica Wood doesn't sound half bad. hmm...

Grand Canyon

We've been meaning to take a trip to the Grand Canyon for a while now (we live less than 4 hours away) and with Spencer and Bree here for the week, we thought it'd be a good time to go. The weather was great. We stopped in Flagstaff and Dan and I felt like we were home. The weather was cooler, the wind was gently blowing, there were mountains and there was vegetation growing and it wasn't transplanted to the area. The Grand Canyon is beautiful. I only recommend going there once, but it's definantly worth the one time. Here's some pictures of our trip there. Sorry if you get bored.

"NO DADDY! DON'T PUT ME IN MY CARSEAT!"

The Watch Tower at the Grand Canyon

Beautiful view, huh?

Mckenzie adores her daddy!

I was a bit nervous watching Bree, Spencer and Dan get so close to the edge!

Mckenzie found the trunk to be a fun place to sit (don't worry we put her back in her carseat).

Colorado Rockies

Ok so, I tried all yesterday morning to get tickets to the World Series in Denver for my brother, Spencer. He is the ultimate Colorado Rockies fan. He's been one since they were created. To great misfortune, someone had to go and hack into the system (tickets were only going to be sold on coloradorockies.com) and caused a system wide outage. Needless to say, less than 500 tickets were sold before the outage. So, they postponed ticket sales until today and I've been trying for over 2 hours now. It's insane. so, if any of you have a way to get a couple of tickets let me know! We're really excited for the Rockies to be going to the World Series. They did amazing in the NLCS by winning it all! Dan and Spencer went to one of the games while Spencer was down here and they had tons of fun. Spencer goes for the game and Dan goes for the yummy treats. Though I'm quite impressed with how knowledgable he's become about the Rockies and baseball!

Mckenzie and Jessica's trip to Africa

Ok, so we didn't go to Africa. We went to the Phoenix Zoo. Mckenzie can't get enough of the animals. Her favorites are still anything that lives in the sea.

Swimming

One great thing about where we are living is that the pools are heated now. There was a two week period in which the pools were freezing. I'm not quite sure how the water was able to get so cold when it was still 95 degrees, but it did. Anyway, now we enjoy swimming nice, warm and relaxing water. Mckenzie has decided that she's a grown-up and wants to swim all by herself. When you carry her around she wiggles and wiggles. She loves the stairs in the pool and practices going under water all by herself. She squats down until her mouth is fully in the water and her nose goes under every once in awhile. She's learning to hold her breath and she's so proud of herself.
