Many have asked how my brother, Max is doing since the earthquake in Chile. Thank you for your prayers and concern. Here's an email he sent on Monday:
Sorry I dont have to much time to write you guys today but everything is going well. Im not dead and everything here in La Serena in fine. There wasnt any damage up here. La Serena is far enough north that the earthquake didnt do anying thing. It did wake us up at about 3 in the morning and it was moving the house a bit. But there is more damage in Viña del Mar y Valparaíso but not to much there. But I guess in the south it has caused a lot of damage. I have seen some pictures but all the misioneries in Chile are Ok. Lots of things happen can happen on the mission. We had a really good week and we found a lot of new people. We have 5 investigators that are getting ready to get baptized in March. Three of them are a Family named Juan, Macarena y Kevin. Also they have a 4 yearold son named bastian. There progressing really well and they really liked going to church. Juan didnt like Elders to much but he will get used to it . Veronica and Cristian didnt come to churh this week but there still doing well and they should be getting baptized the 13th of March. But a lot more people came to church sunday. Thats what happens when there are problems. People remember God. Well I hope everything is going well for all of you. Love Elder Bastian
We are so grateful for the watchful care the Lord has over his missionaries. How wonderful it is that no matter what happens, the Lords work continues to go forth!
