A New Year, A New Decade

As we start 2010, I've been reminiscing on the past 10 years, what I've done, where I've gone, etc. It's been a VERY fun and exciting 10 years. Here's what I've been up to (Note: I don't blame anyone for not reading this post. It might be long and boring, but I want to keep it as a record for me):

2000:
-Attended and Graduated Ricks College - Snowboarding 2-3 times a week (I know, my life was tough) - Relief Society President - Had Lunch with President Bednar (Yes, the now apostle Elder Bednar of the LDS church )- Met the lead singer of 311, Nick Hexum - Worked at Gap during the summer and bought WAY too many clothes! - Started Utah State University, great roommates, friends, everything (can you tell I LOVED USU???)

2001:
-Studied at USU - Snowboaring again 2-3 times a week (I wish I would have kept a running tally of how much $ was spent on this) - Received my endowments (Mar. 23) in the Logan temple
- Received my mission call (April 27) to the Russia Yekaterinburg Mission (My mom drove all the way from Colorado to give it to me) - Trip to San Diego to see Janae - Entered MTC July 25
-Went to Russia Sept. 25 - learned Russian - taught people about Christ, His gospel and how to find happiness - learned what cold REALLY is like and how to walk on ice.

2002:
-Experienced the most difficult time on my mission with Cectpa Oblasova. - Learned that no matter, I can always turn to the Lord and He will be there - Death Threat coming home from church on a bus - Lithuania to get visa renewed - messed up my knee - Back home September 24, 2002 -2nd knee surgery -Had a really neat talk with my uncle right before he died

2003:
-Studied at USU -Went snowboarding with a couple of friends (Dan happened to be one of them).
-Started dating Dan end of January (he was in Idaho, I was in Utah) -Snowboarding -Dan proposed April 12 on top of a mountain while we were snowboarding -August 12 we got married and sealed in the Denver LDS temple -Yellowstone for our honeymoon -Transferred to BYU-I.
-Went snowmobiling for the first time

2004:
-Studied at BYU-I -Snowboard instructor -We lived in Colorado for the summer -Graduated college with a bachelors in Psychology (I can't find my pictures on the computer from graduation)

2005:
-Got my first job out of college working with kids -PCOS -Cancun -Miscarriage -Pregnant again

2006:
-Continued working (ugh) -developed preeclampsia and was put on bedrest (though, I'm WAY too stubborn to just sit there) -Had emergency c-section -My little angel, Mckenzie Lavinia was born June 02! -NICU, late nights, diapers, acid reflux, and just enjoying mommyhood.

2007:
-I think I went boarding maybe twice... :( -Pregnancy -Quit my job (HORRAY!) -We move to Arizona for Dan's internship. -Discover I have a great interest in politics -Swim, swim, and more swim. -Fear of spiders, scorpions, and random bugs grows greater -Learned that I don't dialate and had another emergency c-section -November 09 Abigail Nora is born! (Oh what a "fun" experience) -Enjoying a laid back, easy-going baby -Dan finishes the internship and graduates school. We have 1 job offer and wait to hear from the job in Massachusetts -Pack up our apartment, go to Colorado for Christmas, fly to Boston for an interview, get a job offer there, take it, fly back to Colorado, drive to Idaho to spend time with Dan's family, then fly back to Arizona, load up our stuff into pods, drive BACK to Colorado and move to Massachusetts (all in a matter of 3 or so weeks)

2008:
-Some snowboarding -Adjust to life as a conservative living in the bluest state is the country. -Learn that cold weather, humidity and wind are not a good combination -Getting used to 2 kids in diapers. -Lot's of traveling from California (TWICE and 3 weeks at a time), to Washington D.C., to New York City (twice), to Colorado (3 times?), Nantucket, and to all over New England! - Loving Boston in the fall -Having fun with 2 little munchkins

2009:
-Trips to Colorado -Enjoying being a mommy of 2 toddlers -Potty-training - a LITTLE snowboarding -Have a great time listening to Mckenzie and Abby ramble on and on and on (WOW! I didn't know girls talk THAT much). -New York, Palmyra, Niagara Falls, again all over New England and Bear Lake -Finding that if you move to a fun destination, friends and family will visit you!

I know I've missed TONS of things, but there's the gist of it. I really have been blessed in my life with the gospel of Jesus Christ, family including a terrific husband and the 2 most fun and energetic girls I could ask for, friends, and adventures. I wouldn't trade it for anything! I look forward to the future and what it holds for me and my family! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This post is a great idea, I may have to copy. I LOVE that you put meeting Nick Hexum in there. So glad I could share that experience with you :)
