About Mckenzie

It's amazing how much development has taken place in the short span of a year, that I thought I'd let you know where Mckenzie is at now. Mckenzie has enjoyed learning to walk and on Saturday she finally let me put shoes on her, though she wasn't too happy about walking in them quite yet. She has two teeth and the bottom tooth is REALLY sharp, so we try to avoid putting our fingers in her mouth. She loves anything that has bread with it. When eating pizza, she's known to either take off the meat and then eat it later, or actually eat around the meat. She's my girl! She loves fruit and vegetables which we're very thankful for and hope she continues with this. She loves to go places and see everything and has to be in the middle of it all. When were out and about and she starts getting fussy and someone stops by and (as always) plays with her and talks about how beautiful she is, it's like she puts on a show, smiles and giggles and acts like she's having the best day of her life. I really do think she's going to become a politician. She loves to wave bye-bye with using only her fingers and she's learning to blow kisses. She's developed a new interest; tongues. She loves watching us stick out our tongues at her and make shapes like tacos and flowers. She can make a taco with her tongue, but we don't think she realizes what she is doing when she does it. Swimming is one of her favorites. Especially when Dan and I are both there. She likes to "swim" between the two of us while she sticks out her arms in the water and lifts up her head. She's learned to look away when people make big splashes, but hasn't figured out that when we let her down at the lawn chairs that this is NOT an indication that she can quickly go over to the water by herself. She loves books, purses, shoes (especially Bree's), mirrors, water toys like the rafts and innertubes, combing her hair, anything electronic (we all know she gets that from her dad and not her mom), her bunny, animals, and her pacifier. I actually ended up leaving during church yesterday to run home and get it. Fortunantly our church building is really close to where we live. She gets a good grip on things when we try to take them away from her. Bree tried to take some plastic away from her yesterday and it was quite the struggle for Bree to get it. She's our tough little cookie. She's a beautiful, energetic, fun-loving, charasmatic, stubborn, some may say spoiled, opinionated (already, I know), wonderful and sweet baby. We love her so much.
